Bankruptcy Filing Fee Costs

Bankruptcy Filling Fees

Bankruptcy filing fee costs are different for a Chapter 7 Bankruptcy and a Chapter 13 Bankruptcy.  The filing fee for a Chapter 7 is $335.00 and the bankruptcy filing fee for a Chapter 13 is $310.00. There are other cost to file bankruptcy. Bankruptcy fling fee costs are if the case gets dismissed for some reason there is a bankruptcy filing fee cost of $260 on a motion to reopen the case. There are fees that creditors have to pay for filing a motion to lift stay and there are adversary filing fees.

Sometimes the bankruptcy filing fee costs can be waved in extreme circumstance. And most commonly, the bankruptcy filing fee costs can be made on an installment plan. For instance, a creditor is coming to take you car and you race to the bankruptcy lawyer's office and you only have enough on you to pay for the bankruptcy lawyer. But oh no the repo man is driving up. The lawyer filies your bankruptcy case and submits an application to pay your bankruptcy filing fee costs in installments. You are safe. The lawyer walks out and gives the repo man a copy of your bankruptcy notice and you drive home. You can do installments on the bankruptcy filing fee costs on either the chapter 7 bankruptcy of the Chapter 13 bankruptcy.

There is also a bankruptcy filing fees cost for adding a missed creditor. It is like $30. But most of the time this is not necessary in a chapter 7 case because the debt will be discharged anyway. But in a chapter 13 you will need to pay the filing fee to add the creditors.
